· Train novice speakers on several age levels giving older, more experienced
students the opportunity to hone their forensics skills by giving them away.
· Expand
opportunities for families and younger children to participate in public speaking and community service.
· Train speakers to identify social needs and to find their own messages of hope in response
Our current group projects include:
pod-casting, dramatic presentations for youth literacy in public libraries, political campaign support, and Teen Court. In addition,
our members are honing dramatic, inspirational, internet and PowerPoint presentations with coaching support for their individual platforms
and scholarship competitions.
We primarily prepare students for service in the public arena, but coach toward NCFCA competition
when public platform speeches fall into NCFCA competitive templates. Counterpoint offers training in Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate
(NCFCA), and short public-speaking intensives.
